w/ Kids & Teens

Join Dr. Christopher Willard for a free practical webinar and discover how to confidently teach mindfulness to children and teens — even when they have anxiety, ADHD, trauma histories, big behaviors, low motivation, or zero interest in “sitting still and breathing.”

What You'll Learn

This is a FREE webinar for parents, educators, mental health workers and child professionals!

Most mindfulness training sounds good… until you try it with real kids.

Does mindfulness ever backfire with kids?

Do you worry about "triggering" a child or teen and making it worse?

Maybe you’ve tried breathing, body scans, or “just sit quietly” practices — only to see kids get restless, silly, anxious, avoidant, or completely checked out.

That doesn’t mean mindfulness failed.

It usually means the practice needs to be adapted.

In this webinar, you’ll learn how to make mindfulness work for kids who don’t naturally sit still, calm down, or talk about feelings.

1. Why traditional mindfulness doesn’t always work for kids

Especially for children with anxiety, ADHD, trauma histories, sensory sensitivities, or big behaviors.

2. How to adapt practices for PTSD, anxiety, addiction PTSD, ADD, ASD and more

Learn simple shifts that make breathing, movement, grounding, emotions, and compassion practices safer and more effective.

3. How to feel more confident leading even kids who challenge you

Know what to do when kids say “this is boring,” refuse, get silly, shut down, or seem more activated.

You aren't doing it wrong. Most mindfulness training teaches adults how to practice. It doesn't teach practitioners how to make mindfulness land with real children and teens.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

In this free training, Chris will show you the practical shifts that change what happens in the room.

Mistake #1: Starting with stillness

Most adults picture mindfulness as sitting quietly, eyes closed, breathing calmly.

But many kids need movement, play, sound, art, nature, imagination, rhythm, or co-regulation before stillness is even possible.

In the webinar, you’ll learn how to start where kids actually are.

Mistake #2: Treating resistance like noncompliance

When a child says “this is dumb,” laughs, refuses, distracts others, or gives up, adults often assume they’re being oppositional.

But resistance may mean:

“This feels weird.”
“I’m embarrassed.”
“I don’t want to feel what’s inside.”
“I don’t know how to do this.”
“My body doesn’t feel safe.”
“I’m afraid I’ll fail.”

You’ll learn how to respond in ways that reduce shame and increase buy-in.

Mistake #3: Teaching mindfulness as a calming trick

Mindfulness is often presented as a way to “calm down.”

But kids quickly notice when adults are using mindfulness to control them.

In this webinar, you’ll learn how to offer mindfulness as a skill for awareness, choice, connection, resilience, and self-trust — not just compliance.

Nina, Special Education Teacher

“This completely changed how I adapt mindfulness for more vulnerable kids. I left with practical tools, more confidence, and a much better sense of how to adapt practices for children who are anxious, restless, shut down, overwhelmed, or otherwise triggered.”

THIS IS NOT (just) ANOTHER FEEL GOOD OVERVIEW

You'll leave with practical language and ideas you can use immediately.

*Anxious kids
*Kids with ADHD
*Trauma-sensitive groups
*Big Behaviors
*Shutdown and avoidance

*ASD kids
*Kids who hate sitting still
