I discovered meditation over twenty years ago, when I was given the gift of attending a mindfulness-based stress reduction course by a student of Jon Kabat-Zinn.  Since that time I’ve become a regular meditator myself, primarily practicing mindfulness meditation on my own and on retreats.  I’ve now had the privilege of studying at retreats with American masters including Pema Chodron, Jack Kornfield, Sharon Salzberg, Tara Brach and others.  I’ve also had the opportunity to attend retreats with Thich Nhat Hanh, and spend time in Dharamsala to hear the teachings of His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama.

In recent years I’ve been delighted to be able to integrate my personal interest in meditation with my professional work, teaching mindfulness skills to patients and clients, as well as bringing awareness of the benefits to clinicians and other professionals.

I now teach meditation techniques to students, most coming for a wide range of reasons.  Many seek spiritual growth, but others have found benefits in health, mental health, and even learning.  The science and research on meditation is now strongly backing these observations, and those of many others over the last few thousand years.  All of these are the subject of my recent book “Child’s Mind.”  Meditation instruction can be found in the “resources” section of this website.

Today, meditation has been tested successfully in a range of settings:
